Located in the heart of London’s vibrant financial district, South Quay Plaza is an iconic residential development by Berkeley Homes, initially designed by the renowned architecture firm Foster + Partners.
This extraordinary project is split across three phases and represents a landmark addition to the Canary Wharf skyline. Tectonix was proud to contribute to Phase 2 of this development, collaborating with HTA Architects and Maylim to deliver high-quality granite materials that seamlessly complemented the existing palette established in Phase 1.
Tectonix supplied over 1,700 square meters of paving, 500 linear meters of kerbing, and 800 square meters of setts alongside planters, benches, steps, cladding, and coping elements were delivered to Maylim to complete the project, all crafted from our distinctive River granite. This granite was initially chosen for its unique aesthetic and ability to match the movement and veining of the materials laid during Phase 1, ensuring visual continuity throughout the development.
Due to the natural movement and veining within the granite, each piece required precise selection and orientation. Sample panels were agreed upon to ensure consistency, and all materials were meticulously cut to maintain the visual flow. Close collaboration with HTA Landscape Architects and Maylim was crucial to achieving the desired outcome. From sourcing to installation, Tectonix provided continuous support and guidance to ensure a flawless execution.
